For the Love of Gardenias
I recently came across Lanier Smith's Channel and relished his affinity to perfume, his video making skills and his love for classic Hollywood starlets. He mentions Elizabeth Taylor quite a few times and although I do like Taylor (I loved her in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof!) I never really looked twice into her perfume range.
Well, I recently did and found that there's a Gardenia fragrance in the range. I love gardenias- I even named our house for the flower, although I'll admit they've been the hardest flowers I've ever tried to keep alive. I love the flowers' crisp white look and the overpowering scent. White florals are my absolute favourite and so I gave this perfume a go.
The fragrance may be named Gardenia but it also includes notes of lily of the valley, peony, orchid, green leaves, musk and carnation. On paper this is a win for me and it has been absolutely lovely. The only downside is its weak longevity but at under 20 dollars per bottle it's still an excellent compromise.
Have you ever tried any perfumes of the Elizabeth Taylor range?
