Everything Downton Abbey
It's no secret I adore Downton Abbey and this weekend I finally got around to watch the movie and enjoyed every second of it. A sequel might be gracing cinemas in the future too.
Visiting Highclere Castle (and plenty of other stately homes really) sits high on my bucket list, but in the meantime I'll stick to flipping pages of the Downton Abbey: A Celebration, brimming with scenes from the series. I truly hope the sequel is on the cards, I wouldn't want Downton Abbey to ever end.
In keeping up with the theme, I've just read Over a Hot Stove, a memoir of a Flo Wadlow who spent years in service as a kitchen maid and cooked for Prime Ministers and Royalty.
I also got my hands on the Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey which should provide insight on living in the Edwardian era in a stately home and will be reading it soon.
Back to Downton Abbey, the official Afternoon Tea Cookbook will be released on April 21st. Looking forward to flip through that and trying out new savouries.
In the meantime I picked up the Downton Abbey scones mix. While this is just a traditional scone mix, it's practical (and fun) to have at the moment considering the only ingredients it calls for are butter and milk. I will be trying it out in the next few days.
Are you a fellow Downton Abbey fan?
